A DERELICT house in Abergavenny could be transformed into a funeral parlour if plans are approved.
Neville Lodge, in Union Road West, has been vacant for several years but a planning application submitted to Monmouthshire council could change that.
Dignity Funerals, a funeral services provider which works with more than 900 funeral directors across the UK, want to retain most of the existing two-storey building.
In the plans put forward, the existing bedrooms on the first floor would be used as office or storage space while an ensuite could serve as a tea room.
The ground floor will also be kept largely intact but the living room would be reused as a reception office while the dining room would be converted into an arranging room.
A new door opening is proposed in the position of the existing kitchen window, while the rear of the living room would be partitioned off to provide a wheelchair accessible toilet.
A chapel and a holding room would also replace the kitchen.
Existing concrete outside the house could be used for six parking spaces, including one disabled parking bay.
