GWENT Police are appealing for information after receiving reports of an attempted robbery in the Maindee area on Monday.
The incident occurred at around 7.05pm on December 4 and it is alleged that the victim, a man, was walking on Manchester Street at approximately 6.55pm when he was approached by two men.
One of the men threatened to stab him if he did not give him his phone, although no knife was seen.
The victim fled the scene and was not injured during the altercation.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information which could help officers identify any of the individuals should call the police on 101 quoting log 490 04/12/17.
