A NATIONAL heart disease research charity has opened a new homeware in Wales for the first time in eight years.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cymru store was unveiled on Tuesday, December 5 at the Cwmbran Centre.

Professor Chris George, whose work into the mechanisms of heart disease is funded by the charity was joined by staff, volunteers and customers as well as the mayor of Torfaen, Cllr Jessica Powell, for the opening.

Professor George said: “It was great to meet all the fantastic BHF staff and volunteers, as well as members of the public that support the BHF and help raise vital funds for heart research.”

Ceri Winter, the BHF's regional manager , said: “We hope to continue this success with support from the local community, so if you are in the area, please do visit the store to see what fantastic bargains are on offer.

"Each item sold will help the BHF to fund more life-saving heart research."
