GWENT Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses after a fatal road accident in Cwmbran.
The incident occurred in Commercial Street, Pontnewydd on Monday, December 4 at about 5.30pm and it involved two pedestrians and one car – a silver Hyundai Santa Fe.
One of the pedestrians, Alan James, 79, of Pontnewydd, later died at the Royal Gwent Hospital.
The other pedestrian, a 78-year-old woman, also of Pontnewydd, went to hospital with minor injuries.
Anyone who saw the incident or may have any information that could the police should call 101 quoting log number 411 04/12/2017.
