ANOTHER Argus article about Welsh Assembly (February 14) and again no costing. Is costing such a political hot potato local media have to remain silent?
I make no secret of it apart from local councils I think regional politicians a waste of tax payers money.
NHS, police, teachers, welfare, transport, fire and rescue. Be they in Edinburgh, Southampton or any city in-between, with slight variations, the cost per head of population is the same. Rural areas may have issues but nothing a property funded local council couldn’t deal with.
National nor regional politicians have to live with the basic community decisions they make. You don’t see them queuing at your local surgery, A&E or laying on a trolley because there’s no beds, their children’s schools are not put into special measures, they do not have to pay taxi fare for work because the buses don’t run early enough.
If I’m wrong please show us. Show your employer, the tax paying voters, not only what Welsh Government spends, what it saves and what Cardiff Bay costs?
The system does need repair and cutting out the dead wood of middle management would be a start.
