MEMBERS and supporters of the Welsh Liberal Democrats will meet for the party's spring conference in Cardiff this weekend.
The first day of the event, which will be held at the Village Hotel in, Coryton, Cardiff, on Saturday will include keynote speeches by party leader Jane Dodds and president of the UK Liberal Democrats Sal Brinton.
Ms Dodds will also present a motion on 'A liberal Wales' on Saturday morning, and in the afternoon will take part in a forum discussion on the impact of Brexit on the devolved nations, which will also include the Welsh Government's education secretary Kirsty Williams, leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats Willie Rennie and ex-MEP Peter Price.
This will be Ms Dodds' first conference as party leader. She was appointed in November last year following the resignation of her predecessor, Mark Williams, who stepped down after losing his Ceredigion seat in June's general election.
The first day of the event will also include a question and answer session with Ms Williams, who is also AM for Brecon and Radnorshire, a motion on homelessness and another on the proposed burying of radioactive waste off the coast of Wales.
The second day of the conference on Sunday will include a motion on stopping Brexit, another on the Welsh Government's proposed reform of local government in Wales, and a closing speech by party president Cllr William Powell.
Argus politics reporter Ian Craig will be reporting live from both events on Twitter at @ArgusICraig.
