AFTER a damp start to the week, Gwent is expected to bask in sunshine for the rest of the week.
According to the MET office, temperatures in Newport are expected to reach 21C in Monmouth today, 20C in Cwmbran and Chepstow while temperatures in Newport will reach 19C.
Ebbw Vale and Tredegar are expected to have temperatures of 18C, which is warmer than Istanbul in Turkey.
The MET office is forecasting that the good weather will continue until the weekend.
The forecast for Wales says: "Wednesday will become fine and warm with long spells of sunshine developing through the day. Maximum temperature 22C.
"Warmest on Thursday, thereafter turning a little fresher by Saturday, with cooler nights."
