TELEVISION personalities Bradley Walsh and Denise Van Outen, and rugby stars Greig Laidlaw and Mike Tindall are the latest stars to sign up for the Celebrity Cup at the Celtic Manor this summer.

Mr Walsh, Mrs Van Outen and Mr Tindall were all part of the England team which won the star-studded event at the Celtic Manor in 2017 and they will be keen to keep their hands on the trophy when battle is resumed on June 30 and July 1.

Actor, comedian, presenter and singer Mr Walsh will lead that defence of the title as he steps up to team captaincy duties for the first time. The Chase quiz show host has been a frequent guest at Celtic Manor in recent weeks as he spent time in Wales filming for the next series of Doctor Who.

Mr Walsh said: “I’ve had a great time filming in Wales but unfortunately I’ve been too busy to spend too much time improving my golf on the driving range at Celtic Manor.

“We all enjoy playing in the Celebrity Cup and it was a real thrill to help Team England win the trophy last year. I’m delighted to be taking over as captain but I definitely feel under pressure to make sure I lead the team to victory again.”

Actress and presenter Mr Van Outen has added a splash of glamour to the fairways for the last two years and will also line up for Team England, along with Rugby World Cup winner Tindall.

Thousands of golf fans and celebrity spotters will flock to ther Celtic Manor to watch the Celebrity Cup from June 30 to July 1. As well as golfing action, there will be live music and food and bar outlets in the tented village.
