NOEL Gallagher’s High Flying Birds brought their live show, Stranded on Earth World Tour, to Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena.
The mix of a bank holiday Sunday, the glorious weather and earlier success for both Cardiff City FC and Noel Gallagher’s Manchester City ensured a party atmosphere amongst the sell out crowd.
While almost a decade has passed since Britpop behemoths Oasis announced their split Noel Gallagher remains as popular as ever.
The masterful Mancunian walked on stage to a huge reception around 9pm and opened with some of his more recent hits Fort Knox, Holy Mountain, Keep on Reaching and It’s a Beautiful World.
While Gallagher has enough solo tracks to fill an entire concert, he stayed true to his roots with original Oasis tracks Little by Little, Half The World Away and The Importance Of Being Idle.
Two of Oasis’ most famous tracks Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back In Anger were performed to a huge ovation despite the noticeable key change from their original 1990s recordings.
Before leaving Noel saluted the crowd and covered the Beatles classic All You Need Is Love.
