Robby Taylor, owner of New Innk tattoos in Griffithstown, tells us more about his business.

How would you describe your business?

Our business is like nothing else locally, it has a completely different vibe than any other tattoo shop.

How long have you been in business?

We’ve been in business for 6 years, currently at our new premises for a year .

What makes your business unique?

We offer many different styles under one roof. I work with the bold and colourful tattoo work, Catty our apprentice works amazingly in blacks and greys and her artwork is incredible.

Abbey is our other apprentice and she loves working in dotwork and Disney style tattoos. We also have Tammy Elliott on board and she is a microblading specialist doing semi permanent eyebrows .

How did you get to be a tattoo artist?

My love of artwork is what got me into tattooing. Being a collector of tattoos at a young age and seeing other artists express themselves on my skin I wanted to express my artwork onto other people’s skin .

What do you love most about your work?

The fact that there are so many people walking around with a piece of me on their skin. They came to me to let me express my creativity onto their bodies and that’s incredible .

Is the tattooing community supportive of each other?

The tattooing community can be supportive of each other. I have very close links with tattooists in Torfaen and I’m more than comfortable with sending someone to another artist if they want something that’s not in my style, such as a portrait, as their is so much that can go wrong with a portrait and if your in the right hands you’ll walk away with something amazing .

Do you have plans for the future?

My plans for the future is to be as successful as I can possibly be within tattooing have a very busy shop and who knows hopefully expand the New Innk brand into other boroughs .
