A MAN attempted to grab an 11-year-old boy who was out on his bike in Tredegar.

The boy was riding his bike on York Terrace, near Elmwood, at about 7.45pm on Thursday, May 17, when the driver of a blue estate car approached him and offered him a lift home.

The boy refused the offer, and the man got out of the car and attempted to grab his arm. The boy cycled away from the area and the car, which may have had an A on the numberplate drove off in the opposite direction.

Police said the boy was distressed, but not harmed.

The man is described as in his mid-20s, with a slim build and short brown hair. He had an English accent ad was wearing a dark green hooded top, a dark grey hat and red shorts.
