A LORRY caused chaos when it blocked traffic in the centre of Newport today.
The vehicle was stuck on the junction of Baneswell Road and Caxton Place.
Eyewitness Simon Powell said: "A white car was parked on the double yellow lines with the two white lines on the kerb, this stopped the lorry from getting around the corner.
"After 45min, at least, the police towed the white car away with its alarm going off.
"They also ticketed a black car parked on the other side of the corner on the double yellow lines."
Omar Quamar, owner of Angel Inn, said that vehicles getting stuck at the junction is a common occurrence.
He said: "It happens quite frequently, a bus was stuck there for an hour last week."
In February, the Argus reported that the stagecoach 151 Newport to Blackwood bus was stuck on the corner of Caxton Place as it could not fully turn due to cars parked on double yellow lines.
The incident reportedly caused a build-up of traffic around Baneswell.
