THE warm weather is set to continue this weekend, but there will be a slight dip in temperatures.

After warm temperatures of 21C yesterday in Gwent, there could be rain on the way today as temperatures fall to 16C.

Then Friday and Saturday are expected be cloudy, but you can get out your barbecues as the Met Office predicts that temperatures will rise again tomorrow.

The weather service expects temperatures to reach highs of 24C on Sunday and continue into bank holiday Monday.

While most of Gwent will bask in sunshine, some areas won’t see as much sun. In Tredegar, temperatures will hit 22C, but there will cloudy patches throughout the weekend.

With the warm weather comes the risk of thunderstorms and heavy rain, as well as the added misery for hayfever sufferers of a high pollen count.

The best of the bank holiday weather is expected to be in the south east of England, and temperatures are set to rise to 29C in London.
