FOREST GREEN boss Mark Cooper has snapped-up former Reading and Perth Glory left-back Joseph Mills.

The Swindon-born player has agreed a two-year deal, subject to international clearance and EFL and FA approval.

The 28-year-old, who spent the last two seasons at Perth Glory, chalking up a total of 44 appearances and scoring one goal.

Mills, who is the younger brother of Barnsley defender Matt, spent two seasons at Oldham Athletic in League One, player with new Forest Green signing Carl Winchester, before heading to Australia and is now looking to start ‘the next chapter’.

Mills said: “I got back and came in and spoke to the manager - he was very complimentary about the club and the direction it is going.

“Another thing is the style of play, he showed me some clips from last season and it’s a progressive style of play, they like to play out from the back and attack with intensity.

“That’s what I like to do and I thought the two mixed well.

“Moving to Australia was always going to be a two year thing, from a kid I always wanted to test myself in a completely different environment.

“I had two great years but I’m coming back to start a new chapter here.”

Mills becomes Rovers’ third signing of the summer and boss Cooper spoke of his delight to gain a signing who boasts significant Championship and League One experience.

Cooper said: “He’s played Championship and League One football and we’re delighted to have him on board.

“He is quick, aggressive, has got a good left-foot and is athletically really good.
