COMMENTS by Torfaen AM Lynne Neagle earlier this week that the UK Government’s handing of Brexit has been “shambolic” prompted a lively discussion on the Argus website.

The pro-Europe Labour AM was speaking after a leaked Westminster report outlined a so-called "doomsday" Brexit scenario.

Here's what you said:

Almost all MPs of all parties voted Remain including the previous and current Tory PM. Forty-eight per cent of those that voted in the referendum voted Remain. So why would anyone change their personal views when it’s the UK Parliament that will decide what Brexit is not Welsh Gov?

She has only stated the obvious that Brexit is a total meltdown shambles due to Tory in-fighting.

The role of opposition parties is to hold the government to account.

Still, Wales is bankrupt without the EU grants so who cares about Torfaen.

Enjoy the poverty you voted for.

Lynne Neagle not happy with the Brexit referendum result, but more than happy to be a minister in a shambles that was voted for by a slimmer margin than Brexit.

The vote for the Welsh Assembly resulted in a winning margin of 0.3 per cent (559,419 votes, or 50.3 per cent of the vote) and no one got on their high horse over that.

The turnout was around 50 per cent and millions spent setting it all up and more billions being wasted today.

Total votes: 1,116,116

Registered voters: 2,222,533

Turnout: 50.22 per cent

Not one note of dissent questioning the small margin and this changed the status of the nation.

I'm sure one of you armchair warriors will know the answer to this,

What has this woman done for the good of Torfaen and Wales.

Brexit is a mess simply because it is Brexit. It was always going to be a mess; warnings were put out by both Leave and Remain camps so I don't know why you think it is due to Remainers.

If you want to play the blame game in regards to voters then we are in this mess because of the 52 per cent that chose to ignore the warnings and advice!

Personally I voted remain and I am sticking to that decision BUT I have no wish to go back on the result. I am quite enjoying watching things fall apart; it's like watching someone slowly realise they have got them self into a massive mess that they cannot get out of.

This woman makes me laugh. Whatever your view on Brexit, no-one has yet to decipher her party leader, Corbyn’s view, so anyone gullible enough to believe he'd be unravelling a complex mess in a brisk and efficient fashion is a deluded hypocrite.

That Brexit is in the process of sinking without trace is no surprise to anyone with an intelligence quotient in triple figures.

It was never going to be a pony that was ever going to run and only those with parents who were related before having children ever thought it could be.

In the end, once all of the mud hopping of those at the end of their evolutionary line is over and done with and we get to sort out the god-awful mess that has been created, what will be handed to us will be a single sheet of paper written by someone like me, upon which will be what we all knew all along would be the case: namely, that what we will have will be almost what we had in the first place, but not quite.

We will have a bigger bill to pay, fewer rights and entitlements, no control over our prevailing circumstances, and will still have do as we are told.

Marvellous - truly a triumph of the intellect, eh?

The difference between not wanting to have left the EU and not want the UK to leave with a bad or no deal seems to elude people still today.

I voted to remain, I personally think we have made a massive error but we have done it.

What worries me is that we will be leaving in a mess, a mess that will affect people today and people in the future, and pointing out this pending mess does not mean that the process is trying to be stopped.

Brexiters now need to own this, its what you voted for stop pointing the finger at the rest of us because the disaster that was dismissed as scaremongering is becoming a reality.

But is she wrong? I don't believe that either side of the argument could give the government a glowing report for their handling of Brexit so far, we are a year away and so far they have negotiated NOTHING, they cannot even agree with what they actually want.

The report she references was even laughed at by remainers as being stupid, but the main comment still stands in that someone needs to get a grip and real soon or we are going to end up in a vastly less than ideal situation.

She is a member of a group who are openly trying to stop BREXIT so is never going to be happy.

If she and other Labour councillors are unable to put their own feeling aside and carry out what was voted for, they should step down and let someone who's up to the job take over.

The people of Wales need to wake up to who they're voting for.

Mrs Neagle needs to remember what the good people voted for, it is common sense.

I was torn in beginning because of remainer lies, I nearly voted for that because I like Nando's food and was told that nandos would be closed by the prime minster if we voted to leave but then I thought I would do it for my country and vote leave so that we can now free up all the extra cash we used to send to them.

Well, guess what guys we voted leave and Nando's is still there! Just more proof as if we didn't need it that remain were all liars.
