ARMED police officers were called to a reported stabbing in Newport yesterday.
Gwent Police confirmed they were called to reports of a stabbing in Redland Street, Newport, at 11.40am on Monday, June 18.
But, say police, when armed officers arrived at the scene they found that there had been a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car.
A spokesman for the force said: "When firearms officers attended the scene, enquiries established that the incident had been a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car.
"One person, who was injured during the incident, had left the scene before officers arrived.
"Investigations are ongoing."
