FOUR men have been charged with a series of offences after three alleged robberies on the same night in Newport.

The incidents are said to have taken place on the evening of Thursday, May 31, on Godfrey Road, Queens Hill Crescent and Tewkesbury Walk.

Gwent Police confirmed that a 26-year-old man was charged with three counts of attempted robbery. He will appear at Newport Crown Court on July 12.

A 22-year-old man was charged with three counts of attempted robbery, wounding with intent, two counts of possessing a firearm with intent to commit an offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon. He will appear at Newport Crown Court on July 11.

A 28-year-old man was charged with three counts of attempted robbery, and with possession of cannabis. He will appear at Newport Crown Court on July 2.

Finally, a 30-year-old man was charged with three counts of attempted robbery. He will also appear at Newport Crown Court on July 2.

All of the men are from the Newport area.
