A CELEBRATION of literature is taking place this weekend.
Lit on the Lawn is returning for its seventh year , at The Priory, on Saturday from 11.30am.
There will be a pop-up bookshop provided by Chepstow Books and 14 Welsh writers will speak at the event.
The evening will feature Murray Lachlan Young, often regarded as one of the best-known poetry voices in the UK, who blurs the boundaries between poetry, rock ‘n’ roll, and comedy.
Singer Chrissie Hynde has described him as: “A rock ‘n’ roll poet.
Fellow poet, Mab Jones, will also be featured in the evening.
Mab Jones has won a Creative Wales Award, runs International Dylan Thomas Day, and writes as a freelancer for the New York Times, amongst other achievements.
She has been described by The Times as: “A unique talent.”
Lit on the Lawn was organised by Caerleon Arts Festival, whose Big Free 2018 takes place the following weekend.
An organiser, Rajvi Glasbrook, tweeted: “There is a truly excellent line-up and it’s going to be ace.”
Tickets are available on Eventbrite, costing £10 for a day ticket, £15 for an evening ticket, or £20 for an all inclusive event pass.
