A 25-YEAR-OLD has been accused of raping and sexually assaulting five different women, a court has heard.

Aiden Bradley, of High Street in Abersychan, is standing trial accused of 13 counts of rape against women aged 16 or over, and two counts of sexual assault of a woman by penetration.

Yesterday, a jury of eight men and four women at Newport Crown Court watched one of the complainants, who cannot be named for legal reasons, describe to police an alleged rape she says happened when she was a teenager.

In her interview, the complainant told Gwent Police Bradley she had invited a then 18-year-old Bradley over her house for dinner.

But, she added, the defendant suddenly became angry while they were sitting in her bedroom, grabbing her and calling her names before pushing her down on the bed and beginning to have sex with her while holding her down.

“He told me he was going to punish me,” said the complainant.

“I said ‘please no it’s going to hurt, please no’. Then he did it.

“I was sobbing into the pillow. It was horrific pain.”

Cross examining the complainant in court, Nigel Fryer said the defendant’s case was that there had been a row between the pair.

Mr Fryer said: “Mr Bradley’s case is that you both got naked and were about to get into bed to have sex,” said Mr Fryer, adding it was then the dispute occurred.

“You sat on the bed and talked for about 30 minutes about the situation, then he put his clothes on and left the bedroom. There was no sexual intercourse that day.”

The complainant laughed, and replied: “That is not correct.”

Mr Bradley denies 13 counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault by penetration.
