EFFORTS to tackle a huge grass fire on Twmbarlwm, above Risca, are continuing this morning.
Smoke can still be seen rising from the hillside and firefighters remain on the scene.
It is now almost 48 hours since a fire was first reported, and the scene - along with others across Gwent and south Wales - has kept firefighters extremely busy over the weekend.
The photograph above, taken late last night by Rhys Bennett, vividly portrays the extent of the Twmbarlwm blaze.
Some said the situation had worsened late last night.
