NEW information from the police has revealed they attended the Colour Clash festival after a man received stab wounds.

The police and ambulances were called to the Colour Clash event at Newport's Tredegar Park on Saturday.

On Tuesday the Argus reported emergency services were called to the event on July 14 twice within the space of ten minutes.

Now it has been revealed the first incident saw police called at about 10.05pm to reports a 27-year-old had received stab wounds.

He was treated at the scene for a minor wound which police said is believed to have been caused by a craft knife.

He later attended Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital, and was subsequently discharged.

As the Argus previously reported, the second call came in just 10 minutes later at 10.15pm after a 21-year-old man was hit over the head with an iron bar, suffering a fractured eye socket. He was taken to Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about either of the incidents to contact them on 101, quoting log number 738 of July 14 for the first, or 762 of July 14 for the second.
