THREE pre-schoolers have tackled the largest summit in South Wales.

Cwmbran Four-year-olds Lilly Waters and twins, Esmee and Addiena Bowden, climbed Pen-Y-Fan in the Brecon Beacons on July 8 to raise money for a young girl’s ‘bionic’ arm.

Dubbed Lily’s Little Soldiers the outdoor loving girls took on the challenge to help raise £800 for four-year-old Lily-Mai White – who was born with a stump – to get the materials for a ‘bionic’ arm.

The twins’ mother, Alex Smith, said: “The girls were real life little soldiers.

“They enjoyed the climb so much that they climbed Corn Du afterwards, which is the second-highest peak in South Wales, at 873 metres.

“The girls loved every second. Esmee even said: ‘Mummy I want to stay here forever and ever and even sleep here.’

“We are so very proud of them.”

The girls were unstoppable, even in the hot weather.

Lilly Waters mother, Amy Rappel, added: “They were absolutely brilliant.

“They played in the stream to cool down and had medals. I’m really proud.”

The girls raised over £500 but still haven’t met their target. To donate search for “preschoolers supporting each other for Lily’s new bionic arm” on the Just Giving website.
