Cwmbran-based and award-winning brewery Brew Monster is set to open a tap room at its brewery after just over a year in business.

Within the last year the business, which is based at Avondale Business Park, Cwmbran, has gone from strength to strength and is now successfully supplying beers to many venues across South Wales and major players in the pub market including Wetherspoons and the Stonegate Group. Brew Monster has also become part of Beerflex which allows access to Enterprise and national Pub chains.

Managing director Glenn White said: “We have built the business from scratch. From finding premises to building a team, raising the finance and winning the customers. It’s been a whirlwind of a journey but it’s all been worth it.

"We’re now looking forward to selling our beer direct to the public when we open our very own tap room at our brewery in Cwmbran. We hope to have the tap room ready for opening in September.”

The business is currently valued at £450,000 and has recently taken additional space within Torfaen to provide cold storage.

Earlier this year Brew Monster won the Beverage Industry Award category in the Cardiff Regional Awards which recognises outstanding achievement by individuals and businesses.

The awards are determined by a mix of public votes, mystery shopping panel and award questionnaire scoring.

Glenn says “It was a real honour for the business to be recognised in these awards.”

Councillor Alan Jones, executive member for business, culture, leisure and tourism at Torfaen Council, said: “It’s great to hear business success stories like these in Torfaen. I wish Glenn and all the team at Brew Monster all the very best in their plans for the future.”
