EXCITEMENT is growing ahead of a new music festival being held in Newport later this month for charity.

Portstock 2018 will debut at Tredegar Park, in Cardiff Road, on August 18, with range of live acts and entertainment to feature, along with a multitude of food, drink and craft stalls.

The family-friendly festival will be held between 11.30am and 10pm and raise funds St David’s Hospice Care, which offers support to patients and their families throughout Newport, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Torfaen and South and Mid Powys.

Headlining the main stage is duo Into The Ark, who starred on The Voice 2017, with performances by The Ed Sheeran Encounter, Big Mac’s Wholly Soul Band, Barracwda, The Apple Tree Theory and others supporting the acoustic soul band throughout the day.

Newport City Radio will host a Love Live Music Stage.

Funfair rides, a climbing wall, face painting and workshops will also feature.

For guests who work up an appetite there will be stalls from the likes of Parc Pantry, the Welsh Italian Pizza Company and Cotyledon Markets.

Drink will be provided Tiny Rebel Brewery, Vantage Point Events and Cheers Event & Bar Services.

The event is sponsored by Kymin, Designer Print and Western Power Distribution. It is in partnership with Newport City Council, Parc Pantry, production company Total, Safeguard Medical Services, Cotyledon Markets, Beacon Events and GCELL.
