A TEENAGER was trapped after a brick wall collapsed on top of him in Swffryd.
The 13-year-old boy had to be rescued by fire crews after the accident on Ballie Smith Avenue.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received the emergency call at 11.15am yesterday morning and the teenager had to be recused by the emergency service using hydrolic equipment and airbags.
Four fire crews from Abercarn, Ebbw Vale and Malpas attended the scene.
A neighbour said a number of police vehicles also attended the incident.
A spokesman for the Ambulance Service confirmed one male casualty was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny, but the extent of his injuries are unknown.
