Police investigate fatal crash

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a road traffic collision in which one person was killed.

The incident happened on the Devauden to Monmouth Road near Itton on Saturday morning.

Gwent Police were called at 12.25am after one vehicle was involved in the collision.

One person from the car was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, where they later died while another person is currently receiving treatment for injuries at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny.

Gwent Police have arrested one person in connection with the incident and say their enquiries are ongoing.
