A NEWPORT store is taking part in a national celebration of independent British record shops.
Diverse Records on Charles Street, together with thousands of similar stores across the country, is to celebrate Record Store Day in April.
The store is to stage a free gig at Le Pub, Newport city centre, on Saturday April 19, with Cardiff folk-pop outfit Picture Books in Winter headlining.
Goldie Lookin' Chain will also pop into the store in the afternoon to sign copies of their new album "Asbo 4 Life."
Record labels across the country are also offering exclusive vinyl releases of records from Tom Waits, New Order, MC5, The Smiths, Graham Coxon and many other bands especially for the day.
