Celebrity snaps to aid South Wales kids

GWENT'S undefeated world champion boxer Joe Calzaghe, Rhys and Eggsy from Goldie Lookin' Chain are former athlete Jamie Baulch and just some of the famous faces who will feature in a limited edition photography collection to raise money for a children's charity.

Face Facts is being launched today at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff and the Gwent celebrities will feature alongside former Dr Who producer and screenwriter Russell T Davies and singer Cerys Matthews.

Proceeds from Face Facts will go towards Red Dragon Radio's Help A South Wales Child charity.

The charity was launched in 1997 to support disadvantaged children suffering poverty, abuse, neglect, homelessness, violence, illness and disability. Cardiff-based photographer Jon Pountney took the picture, which have been made into a limited edition book, with only 200 copies available.

The collection also features children for groups across South Wales, including Newport's Forest Children's Centre.

Community development worker at Duffryn Community Link, Bob Barry, said: "What it means to me is to help raise understanding and awareness on child poverty and I was really pleased that the children could star in this."
