THE woman who died after a crash in Abergavenny was named tonight as retired teacher Peggy Mason of Brecon, aged 78.

A statement by her family said she had retired to the area after having taught in the Hertfordshire area since 1954.

It added: "She was married to the late Derrick who was also a teacher. They had two sons, Ian Paul and Robert Nigel. She and Derrick retired to the Brecon area 19 years ago. Peggy was a passionate seventh-day adventist christian and was very active in the church. She was also a member of Brecon WI and enjoyed her gardening."
