A CWMBRAN great-grandmother celebrated her 105th birthday with a party at her nursing home.
When she was younger, Daisy Farr, originally from Risca, was an avid member of the Salvation Army, loved sewing and worked as a cleaner and domestic help.
She is the oldest person at Brynawelon Nursing Home in Llantarnam, but her daughter, Betty James, 74, thinks she still has a few more years left in her.
"I should hope she has, especially with the way all the staff take care of her," Mrs James said.
Mrs Farr married her late-husband Harold Farr when she was 27 and gave birth to her daughter four years later.
Mr Farr died from prostate cancer when he was 67 and she lived alone in Risca until she had a fall at 95 and moved into the nursing home.
She has two grandchildren, Gary James, 52, and Dawn James, 49, and three great-grandchildren, Josef, 22, Mathew, 19, and Robert James, 12.
Mrs Farr celebrated her birthday last Wednesday with some of her family and other residents at the home among banners, cards and cakes.
