Blaenavon set for weekend of festive fun

BLAENAVON will be host to a number of Christmas activities and markets this weekend.

The Heritage Town Festive Weekend will run from December 4-6 and is being organised by Blaenavon Traders’ Association.

As well as more than 20 stalls, the town will host a Victorian Christmas show entitled “Christmas in the Parlour” at the Workmen’s Hall on Friday.

This will include festive tales, music and sing along carols.

Saturday will see a visit from Santa’s reindeer and elves in the town centre while Santa’s grotto will open for business at Bethlehem Court on the Sunday.

A lantern-lit “Living Nativity Play” will also take place in a walk around Blaenavon.

Blaenavon Heritage Railway is also putting on “Santa Steam Specials” every weekend in December which provides a trip on a steam train to Santa’s Grotto.
