A CYCLIST was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries today after being involved in a car accident.
The 22-year-old man from Chepstow, was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, before being moved to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where he remains in a stable condition.
The incident happened at around 6.45am on Hardwick Hill in Chepstow.
The driver of the car, a 73-year-old man from Sedbury, was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital as a precaution and has since been released.
The road remained open whilst emergency services dealt with the incident and traffic was diverted through a contra-flow system.
