Gwent students bring back rock 'n' roll years

GWENT students will recreate the music from the rock n' roll years when they host a concert dedicated to the music of the 1950s and 1960s.

More than 50 music practice and music technology students from Coleg Gwent's Crosskeys campus will perform the showcase on Wednesday.

They will take the audience back to when the likes of The Shadows and The Beatles were firmly on the radio play list, using drums, guitars and vocals to recreate the music from the era.

The concert is a culmination of the students' work on 1950s and 1960s music culture, its origins and its influences.

It will be the music technology students' job to ensure the performance stays on track as they will be responsible for lighting, sound and multimedia displays as well as changing the stage ready for each performance.

The concert takes place at the Crosskeys campus at 7pm.

Tickets cost £4 and are available on the night.
