THREE people were taken to hospital after a collision in Risca yesterday, which left a road closed for three hours.
Police blocked off part of Tredegar Street, between Station Road and Tredegar Terrace, after a collision between a Mitsubishi Colt and a Honda Civic at about 2.26pm.
Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to cut the two occupants from the Honda, who were both taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital, along with the male driver of the Mitsubishi, as a precaution.
The road was closed for around three hours while the two vehicles were recovered.
Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact Gwent Police on 101.
