HUNDREDS of people have signed a petition asking the government to reduce the Severn bridge tolls.
The petition was organised by Denise Lovering of Glensie Commercials Ltd and has so far been signed by more than 360 people.
Mrs Lovering said the high cost of using the Bridge is effectively a tax on businesses and said reducing the tolls would ease the burden on the Welsh economy during the present recession.
She said the tolls on the Severn are the highest in the UK and are set to rise again in January 2010.
Mrs Lovering added: "The recession does not discriminate by region and neither should the Government. A rethink is needed if we are to avoid unfair penalising of those who choose to do business in Wales."
