A sad day indeed. One of the last Labour senior politicians who actually believed in a cause rather than a career. Whether you were his political friend or foe you could respect the fact that he had principles and beliefs. Unlike the bunch of self serving, lying, plastic Labour goons we a lumbered with today. He must have been so sad about how his party turned out.

Foot had something the present bunch of labour shop stewards, social workers and postmen don't have, it is called principle?
Kinnock, Blair, Brown completely without principle.

Yes Michael Foot was so principled that he even sold his own constituents down the unemployment river to curry favour with his party bosses!By starting the rot @ Ebbw Vale steelworks he gave Thatcher & Mcgregor carte blanche to decimate the welsh steel industry & consign Bleanau Gwent to the industrial scrapheap which its never recovered from! Its easy to have priciples when you dont have to pay the price of having them!

Its a sad reflection of todays society that had Michael Foot been starting out in his political career today he would not have got very far. Why??? Because the media in paticular is only interested in how a person looks or presents himself. Michael Foot was a political legend. Amazingly bright, a visionary and a remarkable orator. Sadly thanks to how they tried to portray him he will mostly be remembered for the coat he wore to a public gathering.
