Duffryn High School pupil Hannah Windless took a picture of this spring garden whilst out walking with her boyfriend Andy.

The couple were near the Celtic Manor when the scene took Miss Windless' eye.

"I thought it was a nice picture to enter into the competition as I like the flowers and colours of it," she said.

In the future, the 14-year-old dreams of making her hobby a career with her own photography business.

Dad Mark, 44, said he had no idea his daughter had entered the Argus competition.

He said: "Poor old dad was left out of the loop - but I think it's a beautiful picture. She goes for lots of walks and has hundreds of photos of them on her computer."

Budding photographers still have time to enter the competition on the theme of spring.
