FIVE people appeared in court charged in connection with a £40,000 burglary conspiracy targetting premises in Gwent.
Daniel Cameron, 32, Joanne Hughes, 26, both of South Avenue, Sebastopol, Gareth Gibbings, 39, of Fields Road, Oakfield, Cwmbran, and Michael Wakely, 42, of Llanover, Abergavenny, appeared in Newport Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with conspiring to commit burglaries at sheds, outhouses and compounds in the Gwent area with intent to steal between January 1, 2010 and August 31, 2010.
Edward Matthews, 45, of Lower Garn Terrace, Blaenavon, also appeared charged with handling stolen goods, a John Deere ride-on lawn mower belonging to Frank Suttons, of Raglan, between May 17, 2010 and July 28, 2010.
The court heard the offences related to a conspiracy to commit two burglaries and steal £40,000 worth of equipment from Frank Suttons, in Raglan.
All five defendants were bailed to attend Newport Crown Court on September 9.
