GWENT’S best restaurants will feature in a new cookbook designed to showcase Wales’ culinary talents.
Relish Wales, which will be published later this month, will include recipes from 28 of the country’s top restaurants, hotels and inns, with each eatery providing ideas for the perfect starter, main dish and dessert.
Almost a third of book’s restaurants are Gwent-based, with nine establishments from across the region.
Shaun Hill, head chef at Abergavenny’s Michelin-starred restaurant The Walnut Tree, has written the book’s foreword, and the publication will be officially launched at The Hardwick in Abergavenny on December 12.
Other Gwent restaurants sharing their secrets in the book include 1861 in Abergavenny, The Beaufort Raglan, The Bell at Skenfrith, The Crown at Celtic Manor and The Crown at Whitebrook. The Newbridge on Usk and the town’s Three Salmons Hotel are also featured, along with a larder guide to the best local suppliers.
Head chef at The Hardwick, Stephen Terry, said he was “thrilled” to have his restaurant included in the book.
Relish Wales will be available from December 12 from high street bookshops, www.relish publications.co.uk or www.
amazon.co.uk priced £17.50.
