Works to impose new limits on Heads of the Valleys road

TEMPORARY speed limits will be enforced on the Heads of the Valleys road between Gilwern, near Abergavenny and Brynmawr whilst maintenance work is carried out.

The South Wales Trunk Road Agency is proposing to create a 10mph limit, a 40mph limit and to close the layby/ bus stops on that stretch of the road. A 50mph limit buffer zone would also be in operation from Garnlyndan towards the Brynmawr roundabout.

The work is due to begin in March and is expected to take one month. A diversion will be whilst Brynmawr roundabout is resurfaced. Drivers will be directed via the A476, Bailey Street, King Street and the A4047.
