EXPLORER and ex-rugby international Richard Parks is to embark on yet another adventure this March when he joins a team of Welsh celebs in a 1,000 mile race across Britain and Ireland for Sport Relief.

DHL First Nation Home Challenge will see teams of celebrities from Wales, Scotland, England and Ireland by running, sailing, rowing and cycling more than 1,164 miles.

Each national team will start from their respective capitals in a bid to be the first nation back home.

Mr Parks will join Gethin Jones, Dafydd James, Gareth Thomas, Edward Wright, Iwan Thomas, Frances Donovan and Matt Page in Team Wales, setting off from Cardiff Castle on March 10 and returning eight days later on March 17.

They will be joined for their six mile run to the finish in Cardiff on March 25 by 1,000 members of the public.

Mr Parks said: “Pulling on that red jersey is something special, and I can’t wait to do it again and share that experience with others!* Members of the public who join the teams on March 25 will all be chipped and timed, with their efforts counting towards whether Wales will win the challenge.
