THE owners of a pub near Abergavenny want to extend a dining room to meet customer demand.
Applicant William Lysaght, of Cardiff, says there is a need to expand The Bridge Inn on Merthyr Road, Llanfoist, to cater for the number of customers visiting the pub for food and to provide a larger and varied menu.
The proposal includes a new single-storey dining/function room at the back of the pub which will cater for 44 new tables, in addition to the existing 12, and enable the pub to hold private functions.
The proposal also includes a disabled toilet and improved access with ramps from the car park to the dining area.
The pub’s existing car park, which has five spaces, cannot be extended but a disabled bay is included in the plan.
A flood assessment found there will be no change on the impact of flooding to people working and living in the area.
