MONMOUTHSHIRE council tax was frozen for 2012/13 at a full council meeting yesterday.
Twenty-nine councillors voted in favour of the council’s budget, which includes no increase in council tax.
This means residents living in Band D will see their current rate of £1,003.69 frozen.
All those living in other bands (A to I) will not face an increase either.
Seven councillors voted against the proposed budget.
Other funding in the budget includes an additional £750,000 in improving literacy and numeracy programmes in schools over the next three years and an additional £300,000 investment in social care and health.
There will also be no increase in the price of school meals or community meals services.
The Argus reported last month howthe authority was one of three in Wales to recommend no increase in council tax for next year.
