A VALLEYS man was subjected to a “depraved” and “sadistic” physical and sexual attack by four men after he fell unconscious at a party, a court heard yesterday.

The man, who had taken drugs, was stripped naked before his body, head and eyebrows were shaved, and liquid was forced down his throat until he began to choke, jurors at Cardiff Crown Court were told.

Prosecutor Chris Rees said the man was raped and sexually assaulted before being left outside a house in Pen-y-Bryn Court, Croespenmaen, on August 13 last year.

Mr Rees said the man suffered a number of injuries including abrasions, swelling and bruising to his face and body, skin blistering and internal injuries.

He said the man’s face and other body parts had been “defiled” using mascara in what he described as a “degrading and humiliating”

attack – parts of which were filmed on a mobile phone.

Jury members were shown the footage in which Mr Rees said the defendants could be heard laughing and joking as if to encourage each other to “greater acts of depravity”.

Owain William David Turner, 22, and Niall Price, 19, both of no fixed address, deny causing actual bodily harm (ABH), two counts of sexual assault, causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and causing GBH with intent. Liam Price, 21, of no fixed address, denies causing ABH, sexual assault and GBH with intent.

Jury members were told he has already pleaded guilty to another sexual assault charge and GBH.

Thomas Davies, 23, of Pentwyn Road, Crumlin, denies charges of actual bodily harm, rape and sexual assault.

He also denies sexual assault and exposure in relation to an alleged incident involving a woman, said to have happened earlier on August 13.

A16-year-old girl, who cannot be named, is alleged to have poured liquid down the man’s throat while he was unconscious.

She denies causing ABH.
