THE Queen celebrates her Diamond Jubilee in June, marking a remarkable 60 years on the throne.

Her Majesty’s bond with children and young people has been one of the defining aspects of her reign.

And to mark the Diamond Jubilee, your Argus is asking all under-14s in Gwent to show their appreciation for the Queen in a very special competition.

We want youngsters to send us their portrait of the Queen – and there is a fantastic prize on offer for the winner.

Argus readers will pick the best portrait and our winner will receive an iPad and see their portrait used on the cover of a special Argus Diamond Jubilee supplement, which will be sent to Buckingham Palace as a gift for the Queen.

To enter our Diamond Jubilee competition, all you have to do is send your portrait of the Queen – which can be a painting, drawing, sketch or graphic design – to this address: Jubilee Portraits, Editorial Department, South Wales Argus, Cardiff Road, Maesglas, Newport NP20 3QN.

Entries must reach us by noon on Friday, May 11.

Entrants must be aged 14 or under on June 5.
