THE popular dragon boat race returns to Monmouth next month in aid of a local hospice.
St David’s Foundation Hospice Care is raising money through the annual dragon boat race which takes place on June 16 this year.
Up to 25 teams can take part in the race along the River Wye in Monmouth which starts from Monmouth Rowing Club.
Each team needs between ten and 14 paddlers plus one drummer.
The St David’s Dragon Boat Trophy will be awarded to the winning crew and the top three crews receive medals.
A further prize is awarded to the team bringing in the most sponsorship money on the day.
The day will also have barbeque, bouncy castle, stalls, live music and a bar.
It costs £25 to take part and each team is asked to raise £500 in sponsorship.
To enter, see stdavidsfoun dation.co.uk or call Kris Broome on 01633 851051.
