A MAN from Chepstow is now £100,000 better off after a win on a scratchcard.

The lucky player puts his win on the £4 Million Blue Scratchcard down to a piece of luck after he kept seeing the numbers one to four as he went about his day.

Stuart Parsons, 21, doesn’t buy scratchcards that often, but felt an overwhelming desire to buy four Scratchcards on the day he won.

In the car with his girlfriend on the way to her house, Mr Parsons asked her to drop him at the shop as he wanted to buy the scratchcards.

He said: “It sounds so weird telling the story now but for the past couple of months I have kept seeing the numbers 1 2 3 4, whether it’s 12.34pm on my phone, 1,234 mileage on the work car or registration documents.

“Most people would call it a coincidence but it was starting to freak me out a bit!”

After getting dropped off at the shop, Mr Parsons walked straight in and asked for one scratchcard from each of the first four dispensers on the counter, and it was number one that delivered the £100,000 win. He still can’t believe his good luck and it took some time for him to convince his friends and family that he’d won.

He added: “When I revealed the winning prize I was in absolute shock.

“I went to a friend’s house and they wouldn’t believe me. Even my girlfriend couldn’t believe the news – even when I showed her the card.”

Mr Parsons realises how lucky he has been, and has invested most of the money.

He says there will be a few gifts bought for family, as well as a new TV for himself and a Mini Cooper for his girlfriend.

Mr Parsons bought his scratchcard at Spar on Beachley Road, Chepstow.
