A NANTYGLO man appeared at Caerphilly Magistrates Court yesterday after failing to surrender to the courts on May 10.

David Glasson, 36, of Beacon View, was due to appear at court on May 10 to be sentenced for a burglary.

Glasson had stolen tools worth £580 and underlay materials from a house on March 13.

He had admitted the burglary to police and apologised to the victim.

But the court heard failed to attend court because he said his car had been stolen.

Magistrates ordered Glasson to complete 150 hours unpaid work, gave him a 12 month supervision order and ordered him to pay £110 in compensation and £85 towards prosecution costs.
