FIREFIGHTERS are currently dealing with a grass fire alongside the SDR in Newport.
Crews from Duffryn and Maindee were called to the blaze at 17.39pm, which started in a large hedgerow by the carriageway.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue service said it created a large plume of smoke and steam.
She said the fire was brought under control and crews are now damping down at the scene.
