NEWPORT residents are being sought to volunteer as befrienders with the National Autistic Society Cymru.
The charity has befrienders for people with autism throughout South Wales but, because of an upsurge in demand, more volunteers are needed in and around Newport.
Befrienders can help give a person with autism a chance to make a newfriend and gain some independence while also giving family members and carers a break.
Befrienders can become involved in a variety of activities fromwalking dogs and playing computer games to going on days out.
